Love what you do

My friend Carrie has put out an album!

She introduced me to the joys of Blues Night when we were in college. Once when her band was performing at Borders (or was it Barnes & Noble) she kindly invited me up to sing "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone".

I was super excited but apparently nervous about it because I promptly forgot how many times I needed to sing "and I know, I know, I know...". (here's the song if you have NO idea what I'm talking about.)

She's a great example to me of someone pursuing a passion. Since we met she has been singing just for pure fun. In my eyes, she was successful at being a musician long before putting out an album.

Anyway, congrats to you Carrie. I'm so happy to see you doing what you love!

I know what you mean about trying to carve out creative time: I am a first time mother to a 2 month old daughter and I never could have imagined how precious naptime for baby is!!! and your post about choosing between creating something or showering had me laugh out loud. Only a mother could relate to that!!!
:c )
