Make a speedy Advent Candle

We got an advent candle from a cute couple at church. The idea is to burn the candle down to the next dot/mark each day while you read from the Bible ('cause, hey remember it's CHRISTmas). They even included an accompanying list of New Testament verses to read for each day. Such a great idea and it has now become a new tradition for us.

To make your own (and really, it's never too late as long as you've got it done before the 25th of Dec.)

You need

  • a long candle
  • Some sort of paint (looks like they used acrylic or puffy paints) and a way to apply it.
  • to mark 24 dots in a row down the length of the candle
  • a print out of daily scriptures below

There's still time for me and my daughter to do this one. We even have all of the material already! I'm going to print out this scripture list and use it too. Thanks for the idea!

(and thanks for visiting my blog)

Merry Christmas!!

great idea! I got your message about the nativity....it's a fisher price little people nativity set. Around here they were all sold out so I went to fisher prices website and ordered it. It's so much fun at our house and i'm sure it'll bring joy to your kids as well.

Feel free to stop by anytime on my blog :)
